* What is Barter?
Barter was an activity practiced by all ancient peoples of America, involving an exchange of products without the mediation of money. In Latin
india crop diversification allowed the occurrence of a variety of products to exchange between communities. Regular markets and fairs were organized for members who attended the nearby communities. Each chiefdom had then with a production varied and abundant agricultural allowing auto supplies from the basic food requirements and produce food excendetes available for exchange: Corn, potatoes, cassava, pepper, cubios were exchanged for gold, salt and blankets mainly.
The importance of this form of exchange is that it allows all community members have covered their needs: food, clothing, education and leisure. If that happens we can consider that community as rich or wealthy, in terms of structural anthropology. Contrary to what happens in post-industrial societies governed by disproportionate consumption dynamics, mediated solely by the Money factor in what has been called "society of consumption and entertainment" within this society have created so-called "unnecessary requirements, creating frustration for all that we wanted to have (but do not need it ) and we can not have, simply because they are products that are not made available to all members of society.
